This is the sort of project I don’t get everyday…

United Parcel Service (UPS) commissioned me to create an illustration of the front entrance of their corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. I used graphite pencils of varying hardness / softness for the in-focus elements such as the stone walls and landscaping, but the most challenging elements were the out-of-focus background shapes that required highly precise use of blending stumps - a tool that I just don’t use very often. Frankly - it took me a while to become confident with the process. Lots of experimenting helped…
